Most of my career has been in marketing, but I have spent significant time in human resources, sales, and purchasing. Over the last 15 years I focused on direct marketing for Corporations to Hispanic markets, both in the U.S. and Latin America. At the same time, I cultivated a number of interests, including woodworking. I have built decks and indoor and outdoor furniture.
So, after a lengthy business career, I decided to turn my hobby into a new profession. Years ago my wife purchased a pair of very inexpensive Adirondack chairs from a local nursery. The wood was of poor quality so they were painted to cover this up. No glue was used, and simple nails held it together. However, they were very comfortable, especially after I made a few alterations.
This was the start of my passion for well-built outdoor furniture. Since then I have studied many designs, materials, and techniques to come up with the Tree Frog style. And ironically, now my MBA stands for Master Builder & Artisan.
